Chinese swords and Shen Guang Long

QUESTION: I was just wondering if shen guang long swords are any good in quality or are they the *wall hanger* display swords whether the swords would be good for cutting or straight competition.

ANSWER: Seems to be a fair amount of interest in these swords (I answered a question on these exact same swords here yesterday), however - short answer is - they aren't designed for cutting, only formwork - and my understanding is that the tangs are not strong enough to stand much in the way of impact, but sturdy enough for repeated and regular non-contact useage.
