Cutting Beach Mats

by Jarrod
(Guam)

QUESTION: When using beach mats as a cutting target, do you have to soak them like tatami omote?

ANSWER: Yes indeed, though you can soak them for less time (8 hours would be fine). They are nowhere near the same consistency as Tatami Omote. A rough rule of thumb is that 1 Tatami Omote (Goza) = 3 Beach Mats.
