FIND A SWORD SYSTEM RESULT:

"I'm really just looking for a sword that LOOKS good. If it is functional, that's a bonus, but what I am really after is some really ATTRACTIVE good quality display swords."

Every sword collector loves to display swords around the place, and obviously the more attractive and unique, the better!

However, unless you have pressing safety issues - I personally think that it is much more satisfying to display a truly FUNCTIONAL sword than one that just looks the part, but has no real substance or presence behind it (as is the case with all purely decorative display swords)..

There are a couple of different ways of exploring the more unique and attractive swords that I personally think are the best looking, most attractive sub US$300 swords on the market. The first way is to choose from the following four categories to find the sword that appeals to you the most:

The most attractive ancient world swords (Roman and Celtic).

I heard Vikings used to have very ornate swords - any good eye catching sub US$300 replicas?

Personally, I think a fancy Renaissance rapier would look really classy. Which ones are the most aesthetically pleasing?

Far Eastern and Exotic does it for me - how about a really interesting Katana (that isn't just the usual 'black on white' color scheme or something?)

But here are my all time favorites (one of them IS purely decorative, but for its price, beauty and other worldly design, I am willing to overlook that!).

Recommended Display Swords Reviews

"Damascus Viking Sword"
Windlass Steelcrafts

4 Star Rating

PRICE: US$294 to $395

OVERVIEW: With an incredibly beautiful Damascus appearance, this very attractive sword is also quite functional - but better as a 'functional display sword' rather than a heavy duty workhorse.

"Bone Handled Swept Hilt Rapier"
Hanwei Forge

4 Star Rating

PRICE: US$150 to $269

OVERVIEW: Exceptional value for money sword with functional thrusting blade, excellent tempering and extremely ornate swept hilt. Very close to a full 5 star rating.

"Mithrodin"
United Cutlery

5 Star Rating

PRICE: US$94 to $179

OVERVIEW: While I generally disdain decorative swords, I am more than willing to make an exception for this masterpiece by Kit Rae. Considering the attention to detail, this sword is an absolute bargain and a must have for any lover of fantasy blades.
