Generation 2 hand-and-a-half

QUESTION: First, thank you very much for a very enjoyable and informative website! After spending a ridiculous amount of time reading through all your reviews, I have finally been convinced to start down the dark path of sword collecting.

For a starter sword, I've just about decided on the Generation 2 Black Prince. But, I seem to remember Generation 2 was having issues with the tempering on their hand-and-a-half swords a couple months ago. Do you know if these issues have been resolved yet?

ANSWER: Hi David,

Yes, I remember this issue well: The old models of the Black Prince REALLY impressed me. Then came the refinement, which really improved this swords handling. But the second batch of the refined model did indeed have some real problems with the tempering...

A lot of people were shaken by this (especially me) - but this batch certainly isn't available at Arms of Valor (sold out and restocking with new ones in September 07) and I am confident that there will NOT be a repeat. Clyde Hollis simply wouldn't allow it to happen twice!
