Just got my new katana

by Les
(Campbell River, BC. Canada)

I just received my Ronin #3 model and so far it looks very good for what I paid. The blade is quite sharp right out of the box, but I will need to spend some time to sharpen it to where I want it, but at least I don't need spend the hours working on a dull blade. I am impressed so far. I have many years of experience with knives and I can see good value when it is in front of me. I am eager to try it out. It is supposed to be about 2 1/2 pounds, but with the sword being nicely balanced it feels like a feather. The saya is real wood or bamboo reinforced with horn, is very well made. Many others in this price range would be plastic or fiberglass. I plan on using it a lot just for fun and exercise. It will be even more fun to get it razor sharp as all my knives are. Thank you Chris at Ronin for the fine blade. Is not fancy but very functional, which is more important to me than looks, but it looks good too...
