Napoleon period war swords or sabres

QUESTION: I have seen in the web very few places where you can buy real carbon steel swords from Napoleon's period. Most of the places seem to be focused on Japanese, Chinese or medieval time swords.

I'd like to know if you can recommend to me places that I can visit in the web to get battle ready swords from this period. French, german or british. Preferably from Europe, Canada or the US. None from China or India. Thanks for the opportunity to take a look into the marvelous world of swords.

ANSWER: Well, I was going to say take a look at Cold Steel or the Military Heritage site - but these swords are all made in India...

The reality is, there are almost no production swords that cater to this period that are made outside of India and China... I say almost because you might have some luck with the Ames Sword Company which make semi custom and custom swords for around the $600 mark.

Worth a look. Otherwise, you may have to go custom - and that will cost some $$$.

Hope this helps.

Where to buy...
by: Paul Southren

I've heard mixed reports on King of swords and don't really know about the other one...

As such, I recommend Ames - or to have a look through the Vendors in the sword buyers directory. The Cold Steel ones actually aren't bad for the money...

Paul, thanks for your help. Question to you: what about places like King of swords or Fireblood arms?
