Real Armor of God

I bought the PV Celtic sword for $209.00 while the Gen2 sword was $179.00 with brass or Bronze fittings. I have no complaint with the company except that they give a phone number which is never answered by a person, leave a message; etc.

After reading SBG's review of the Gen2 Celtic sword I wish I had bought it instead. It is too much of a hassle to try return the one I bought which appears to have a bit longer blade and steel guard and pommel. Valiant lists this sword which apparently is the source for some RAOG merchandise.

I received the Celtic Sword promptly and decided to buy the discontinued Musashi Katana II SS005BD which was discounted from $135.00 to $54.00 along with the Windlass Spanish sword which came unsharped as advertised which normally sells for $265.00 but was discounted to $119.00. I received these swords promptly.

My only gripe is that they are hard to contact although near me by only a few miles but they answered my emails to them. The GEN II Celtic Sword was $29.00 cheaper on another site but what the hell, I have no legitimate complaints. I requested that they ship the sword to my home address rather than my billing address which they did but they require a signature for delivery or it is returned.

While I might have gotten a better deal elsewhere I have no real complaints.

Sadly "Real Armor of God" is not a customer-oriented online store.

Their 'terms and conditions" run for pages if you print them out, their customer service is poor, and they are quick to hide behind their 'terms and conditions" if they make a mistake.

I ordered some clothing, and it came in a size I didn't order. Because I didn't contact them within 10 days, i was stuck with the merchandise -- and out more than $100. The clothing was not even made by them, but a mass merchandise item made by some other company. It was available on other websites.

Based on this experience, when I went to look for a sword, I definitely wasn't going to buy from "Real Armor of God." I bought from Therion Arms instead, and the service, quality and price was exceptional.

Fortunately, "Real Armor of God" has competitors. I have found that I have better results from online sellers that make the terms they sell themselves or know their unique suppliers well. I hesitate to order online without first engaging in an email exchange, followed up by a phone call.

In this way, if I need it, I can ask upfront for changes, especially in clothing. For example, I ordered a cape from Designs by Kate, and instead of a standard cloak pin-clasp, Kate sewed in two silver chain clasps for me. I wanted a more open look. I now have a one-of-a-kind, stunning lined wool cape.

I do not recommend buying from "Real Armor of God." I encourage you to look elsewhere.
