It would be impossible for me to set aside my religion, because I don't have one, but it isn't anything about the pagan-ness or new age-iness of such a shop that would prevent me from entering one. Proximity to such a store is my impediment; I live in the most conservative county in the most conservative district of an otherwise fairly liberal state, but my '89 Caprice Classic can't be trusted on any trip over 20 miles. A few years back, protesters nearly shut down an Irish-themed pub in the next town over because the owners were friendly to a group of six Wiccans who met there every Thursday evening. I doubt we'll see a new age shop here any time soon. Luckily, we do have several music stores, so trumpet valve oil flows in greasy abundance.
I'm sure I could hitch a ride and find a shop in Baltimore that sells almond oil, but it seems like every time I go down there I end up spending all my time at Lexington Market stuffing my face. Besides, as if Islay whisky, Arran sunsets, Inverness and Edinburgh pub crawls, highland hikes, and Loch Ness sunrises aren't reasons enough, when people ask me "Why do you keep going back to Scotland??" I can always answer "Oh, because I'm out of almond oil."
Cheers,
Jake

I don’t know what your religion is, but if you can set it aside long enough to go into a pagan or mystic supply shop.(most big malls have one) or even a decent incense shop(again most big malls have one) then they will be able to get you pure non chemically altered almond oil. I hear some holistic food stores carry it too.
