Was the musashi wind dragon in your review pre-sharpened?

by Luke Bailey

QUESTION: I was wondering if the wind dragon in your review had already been sharpened, or did you sharpen it before the tests. Because I got mine today and it cannot perform the paper-cutting test with any success at all.

ANSWER: Hi Luke,

Actually, I didn't perform a paper cutting test with the Wind Dragon ($59) but I did on the Wind Katana ($179) - confusing names I know, but very different swords.

All the tests I do are with swords 'out of the box' - no touch ups etc unless I state so in the review, otherwise it would be kind of pointless.

As to paper cutting, a sword doesn't actually have to be paper sharp to cut well. The Wind Dragon cut easily though water filled buddy bottles, if you don't have any luck with those, THEN there may be a problem.
