crack in sword

Anyways, like i said it is all the way through, i just stumbled upon it it was very hard to notice. it is about an inch long. Thanks alot! ps: tried to take a picture but you can't see if in pic. ANSWER: Hi Caleb, Yes, it is extremely serious and could cause the sword to splinter or fracture without warning if any further cutting is done. Stresses on the blade will always try to relieve themselves through a weakpoint, so I think it is probably time to relegate the hardened old sword to a spot on the wall...
