QUESTION: I have some bamboo near my house the main bunch of them is just off a little creek. It gets pretty dark green and hard..
I see bamboo cutting and i would like to know if there is a special kind of bamboo is necessary or could I use the stuff in my neighborhood woods?
ANSWER: I think I know the bamboo you are talking about - looks like river cane but is thicker and darker...
It's actually great stuff to cut - the most important thing is to try minimize cutting anything that is getting too yellow - tends to split, scratch the blade greatly and can even be dangerous to cut.
